Mindfulness, Self-Care and Self-Compassion for Parents

Mindfulness, Self-Care and Self-Compassion for Parents

Raising a child is a journey with unique challenges and opportunities for growth for the parent and child. Often the raising of a child will present situations that may test and even call for us to heal old wounds. Mindfulness is the first step in emotional healing- being able to turn inward and acknowledge our difficult thoughts and feelings with a spirit of openness and curiosity. Research has shown that self-compassion greatly enhances emotional well-being by boosting happiness and reducing anxiety and depression. All of this will aid in being an effective and fully present parent.
