Women’s health

Overview

Women’s health is a branch of medicine that focuses on the wellbeing of women by examining and treating conditions specific to women’s physical and emotional health. Women experience certain conditions and diseases at higher rates than men. For example, heart disease, cancer and diabetes affect women differently than men. At the Samueli Institute, we treat women at every phase of their life, taking into account the various factors that may be affecting their health and wellbeing.

Principles

Risk factors for various conditions and approaches to prevention are often distinct for women. Because of this our providers implement a patient-centered approach, incorporating lifestyle, environment and emotional health into their assessment.

Conditions

We work with women who may be experiencing a wide range of symptoms or who are simply looking to enhance their quality of life. Some of the conditions we treat include:

  • Endometriosis
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
  • Peri-menopause
  • Post menopause

Services

Some of the services we provide include:

  • Bioidentical hormones
  • Regular and annual checkups
  • Supportive care pre and post-pregnancy

Why Choose Us?

At the Samueli Institute, we understand that there may be a multitude of factors affecting a woman’s health. Because of this, our providers take the time to get to know our patients, discussing their medical histories, environment and lifestyle choices. Our providers look to empower patients, teaching them how to make appropriate changes for improved wellness, and providing effective treatments for long-term results.
